We’ve gone back to our discussions about what we’re going to do about the Dungeon. We still want to do it, but we’re still not sure what we’re going to do. We’re still arguing back and forth about a Donate button - I think it’s a good idea, she’s dubious because she doesn’t 100% trust online transactions. Same thing for the MB; she wants to the under 13 to have their parents send us parental approval before they come on, I don’t see how that will help - they’ll just fake their age. She wants a visitor’s gallery so folks will leave us alone about posting more images about their favorite, I personally can see folks uploading the same image 50 million times.
We got a really positive response about us having an Adult Section, so I’m really happy there. I’m not sure how I’m doing to administrate that section, though. Some Adult Anime Fanfic/Fanart sites require authors to submit proof of age before they can submit while others just allow anyone to post. I want to maintain a high level of quality as well as avoid the overzealous parents and bible-thumpers that occasionally poke their heads up. (I’ve had a couple for regular fanfiction in the past) However, I’m also conscious that some people find the idea of sending a copy of their ID to a complete stranger to keep on file to be disagreeable.
On a similair note, I’m still stumped as to how I can maintain the fanart galleries for both sections. Like the fanfiction, I want to keep a high level of quality - I don’t want to have our space choked with pointless doodles that supossibly have something to do with RW/YST or with rediculous fluff art that is only funny to the artist and their closest circle of friends. However, on the other hand I don’t want to omit those who are going to start out at Point A and come out looking like they’re from a genuine Anime Studio.
It keeps boiling down to the subject of rules. What do we allow? What don’t we allow? Is this rule too strict / too loose?
I look at the rules we already have written and keep wondering if its going to be worth it in the end.
