Had both a C.T Scan today and a X-ray at 8am this morning, both on my neck and done due to a set of swollen glands that just won’t go away. My doctors think that I’ve just caught a nasty bug that’s just made itself to home, but they wanted to rule out the more ominous threat of the two “L” cancers. They don’t think so, mainly because of their locations (bottom of the right side of my jaw.) and some other stuff.

It also occurred to me that it might be a tooth thing, since I do have a wisdom tooth on the same side that has the swollen glands that never totally erupted. It might be infected, which could conceivably be causing the swelling. *shrugs* There’s also toxoplasmosis - I certainly do enough litter boxes and have eaten undercooked meat during the summer. They also suggested it might be a bacteria that’s more prevalent in the South that is known for causing chronic swelling of the tonsils / lymph nodes - which isn’t impossible, thanks to Sheba coming up for a visit way back in the end of June.

At any rate, the two tests were mainly to rule cancer out. The X-ray was kind of a “humor me,” but they doubted it was it. And the C.T scan was mainly to give the doctor a better idea of what was going on inside before he decided on whether to do a biopsy or just what.

Joyous. Oh well, what comes, comes… and what won’t, won’t.
