[mood :
Tired]
Sorry folks… For a while there I was posting daily and now I’ve suddenly fallen back out of habit. =/
Yeah, I have a job. Kind of a temp one with a nearby warehouse, loading packages onto their trucks. Still waiting to hear back on a better job. It sucks, but not as bad as it could. I’m sore and I’m exhausted, but it’s not as bad as Sally’s Wal-Mart escapade. Of course, I’m working only 20 hours at max. But at least the pressure has been allieviated - somewhat. I really have to get off my ass and call Baker Online’s financial aid office so I can get college going.
I dunno what the problem is with me. I take one look at the phone and somehow come up with an excuse not to call. *shrugs* It’s pretty stupid…
Eh… what else…? Had a bit of an “oops” with the fanfiction area; you’ve probably noticed from my note on the domain’s front page. What happened is that I got a little overconfident at my “l33t” PHP/MySQL skills and messed something up BADLY.
It all started with me adding some mods onto the archive. The first three went off without a hitch, so I tried one more. I picked a mod that would have allowed members to input a little extra contact information.
I’d just about finished when Aikyo contacted me and wanted me to help her get into her account. So, I popped on, reset her password manually, updated her e-mail address, etc. etc.
And for some reason, the mod caused some of her updated information to be applied to everyone. So, I stupidly went back through and tried to edit everyone elses’ back - and ended up with John the visionary’s information propagating to every account.
I didn’t have a recent backup of the MySQL database, so I was on my own. I finally downloaded a fresh copy of eFiction and uploaded fresh copies of everything. Error fixed. So, the next day or so, I began cautiously readding my mods and nothing happened. I didn’t reinstall that final one, though. I’m pretty sure it was the cause of both the hiccup and the error.
So yeah, felt pretty stupid on that one.
Anyway… yeah, I’m alive.
