Still waiting and I still don’t wait well. =]P

I’m getting closer to beating Legend of Dragoon, I’m inside Mayfil right now. Before I did, I went and did all the sidequests from the original dragoons, the Polter Armor, and then Magician Faust.

The dragoons were fun and so was the Polter Armor, but Faust was damn fun! What it is with me and my habit of soloing the biggest bad guy in my RPGs, is beyond me. What’s more is that I did it with Kongol, who supposedly couldn’t stand up to his magic.

Well, to be fair, he wiped out Dart and Meru only on the second turn. I’d had Kongol equipped with a Legend Casque and a Spirit Shield, and used his Bone Crush addition - which I’d already maxed out. He did a nice 2700+ points of damage every turn and then 3000+ every turn as a dragoon.

So… my favorite character ended up getting the whole amount of EXP for defeating the wizard and is now my highest level character. =) Not too shabby, not too shabby at all.

*eyes the door for another run down to the mailbox to check for his college info.*

[mood : impatient impatient]

Looks like my lurkitis has had another flare-up - sorry about that!

Well, it’s finally begun. On Friday, my application for Baker College Online was sent out along with my financial aid paperwork and my transcript request form. But, as usual, waiting and my family mix about as well as oil and water.

Classes start in June and then, if everything goes right, I could have my associates degree in 9 - 11 months or less, depending on my load and transferred credits. Additionally, if everything goes right, we could have our new machine by this time next month. But in the meantime, patience is not my virtue.

Thank God for Super Metroid and Legend of Dragoon. Not sure what I’m going to do when I finally beat them. lol Pray for some money so once I have my new machine I can get into WoW? Eh, maybe not. Last time I had a new video game (EverQuest) overlapping college, I started failing classes left and right. I just kind of tuned into EQ and tuned out of homework - can’t afford to do that one again. Not only that, but I doubt we can afford subscription fees.

No, I think I need to stick to offline platform games until I’m safely through. I don’t like it, but it’s the truth. Last month we finally got in G4/Tech TV and I’ve been watching it alot. They went over the current MMOs and I came away feeling awful. I really miss EQ and I want in to WoW badly. =( Damnit.

In the meantime, the whole house is down. Mom like her job, let me assure you. It’s her managers and the fact they won’t give her breaks that’s bothering her. That and she found out that employment for the degree she wanted to go for is almost nil here. Of course - bills are still eating us alive. But we’re making ends meet - somehow. It’s a squeaker, let me tell you. I keep praying that Steve and Cathy will continue to be patient with us until we can get up enough money to pay them for that month we missed, thanks to the car and my operation.

I think we’re going to be driven out of Michigan - to be completely honest with you. And now, I think it’s time to return to Metroid for the sake of my sanity.

[mood : preditory preditory]

I was lurking around FF.net and MM.org this evening, hunting down Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross fanfiction when a pair of rants began trying to pound its way out of my skull. They’re about crossovers and “Insert YOU” fanfiction; both of which are seldom - if ever - well executed and seem to be the latest fads in bad fanfiction.

And since this might attract some flames or at least some rebuttals, please at least have the balls to identify yourself. If you flame me anonymously, I’ll just assume that you’re another snot nosed toddler masquerading as a supposed adult.

What is it with the crossovers? (more…)
