I’m going to stop promising to be around more. I never manage to do it.

So, I’m going to stop promising.

Life is somehow still managing not to crush us. Which is amazing in and of itself.

As you may have read on Sally’s, Mom lost her job. Basically, they claimed back in early October that mom let a bad check go through. They claim the person only filled out the amounts, signed it, and turned it over without filling in the “Pay to the order of” part. So they waited a whole month before they fired her. They said they had to wait for both managers to be there, though Mom saw them plenty of times before that.

What we suspect is that they made something up instead of telling her that her seasonal employment was over. Oh well. The job hunt is on. Now if only I could make this damned cold go away. =]P

I only have about 6 - 9 months left of school so long as everything keeps going on okay. By the end of this winter, I’ll be exactly 50% of the way through, which seems to work out to somewhere between 6 and 9 months, give or take. Which is excellent. I’m truly ready to move on with the next portion of my life.

I have to keep telling my classmates that I’m not a professional. For some odd reason, they’re translating my knowledge of HTML and Web design as the idea I’m doing this for a living already. (Uh… no, not yet. That’s why I’m here.) Though it seems Sally’s caught up with me in my ability to completely mess up the archive *grins*

Hil’s recent post got me thinking about my whole journal thing. Shortly after she went “Friends Only”, I followed suit. I had a beef with the adolescent stupidity I keep finding on so many boards, including Ben’s. I couldn’t resist baiting them, but instead got my head blown off by a bunch of little girls. I turned paranoid and decided I wanted in on the fad of a Friend’s Only journal.

Funny thing is, after another year I don’t give a rat’s ass what they think of me. The fact is, if I let myself start caring I end up putting too much thought and emotion into a online relationship that’s far less than even an acquaintance. Knowing someone, actually knowing someone, takes more than a few chat sessions and half-formed impressions. The fact is, I don’t know these people. I never will. And they don’t know me.

Ladies and Gentlemen, by Muse is officially back. =]P Unfortunately, it’s not the writing one.

I’ve come up with a great idea for a new layout for Lunaescence, which I’m going to call “Flipside” for now.

It’s going to kind of be a bit of a different direction for one of our skins. It’s almost going to have the same kind of “club” mood my Gutter clique has, except a touch darker. I’m going to fade a digital clock into the background and at kind of an angle to suggest a new years party. I want the background to kind of suggest laser lights and maybe a disco ball. I’m going to block in and fade out dark red, magenta, orange, gold, purple, and maybe a slightly colder, brighter purple too.

Basically, I have Dreamweaver and Fireworks now and I’m going to abuse the hell out of them! (I need a tablet! Q_Q)

Now for an appeal… I’m looking for a final image to set this off.

In the opening for Cowboy Bebop, they have a really brief sequence where it looks like Faye’s dancing or something in silhouette. I want this! =) But for the life of me, I can’t find a screen capture.

Has anyone seen any captures like this? It doesn’t have to be particularly good, since I’m turning it into a vector image.

Oh, before I forget… I’m almost to disk 4 of FF8 now. =]P
