Well, I’ve finished Chapter 2 of my Legacies of the Fallen fanfiction. Gawd, that chapter was a pain in the ass. I hope the next one will go better, though now I need to hurry up and get Torrent’s layout going. Anyway if you want to read… (more…) entered @ 12:31 pm · filed under: Fiction

Here I am, peacefully working on my story as a way to calm down before bed when it hits. A sudden lapse in confidence. You see, my story is a Chrono Trigger fanfic and I’m bringing in a mostly new cast of characters. For the most part, it’s a cakewalk. All but one of my original characters has little relation to the characters of Chrono Trigger. And of all the characters I could choose to have this character related to, I would have to choose Magus. The idea? In the Dark Ages, Magus comes across a little boy who turns out to be the son of an alternative version of himself. He later uncovers where the little guy is from and that the dimension was basically destroyed, al la the Dead Sea in Chrono Cross. The kid somehow ended up in the “real” dimension where he was discovered. The third chapter, which I only have a teaser up for right now, is where the kid - who’s now an adult - makes his first appearance. His history is mentioned in a nutshell, but I was planning on exploring it in more detail later. At first I thought it would be safe making the young man not related to “our” Magus, but rather a version of him that remained in the Kingdom of Zeal until adulthood. But no, I began to get nervous. Afterall, next to Schala, Magus is probably one of the most popular characters in the game. And lo - I go looking for some fellow Chrono Trigger fans to bounce my ideas off from. Now, based on the two opinions I’ve received so far (plus the results of a poll which died a horrible death due to Gaia’s omnipresent bugs) I’m now feeling extra nervous. I really need to hunt down someone to chat with who knows Chrono Trigger and the fandom well, who wouldn’t mind being a sounding post for my crap. *sighs* 2.December.2004
Umm… wow… lots of comments there. =) *super glomps to everyone* Really brief post here, covering a lot of topics. Point taken about Anime Rise / Blargh. Legacies of the Fallen has now been accepted into the Chrono Compendium’s Selected Fanfiction. I was absolutely shocked when they wrote me about it. They’re one of the largest sites out there for the Chrono Series. So that’s something really awesome. Kaze had her stitches out Monday and is now back to her normal self, albeit a little more trusting them she originally was. But for those first 48 hours, she was in rough shape, poor mew. Luna actually started helping her walk for a while, using her nose to slow her down whenever she fell over or to guide her around. Was really weird when she first did it. She started in walking really slow behind the sofa (I couldn’t see Kaze at the time) and with her head down to the carpet. Suddenly I see Kaze come out from around the sofa, being guided by that silly dog. If she swayed right, Luna nudged her left, if she swayed backwards, she’d nudge her lightly forwards, and visa versa. Silly dog. lol But Kaze obviously appreciated it - she’s been really loving to that dog lately. Anyroad… Ronin looks adorable, Sissy. I hope you have better luck with him. *hugs tightly* Though Mom says (jokingly) that you’re glutton for punishment for doing a new baby and puppy at once! XD And thanks for the Golbat title on 7th Cav’s WoW board. I’ve found a computer on sale for only $300 and I’ve been pouring it on rather thick. *grin* Maybe soon I might be joining everyone. And finally… Link Fixed, Crim. ^___^ 13.November.2004
Legacies of the Fallen or my LoD Fic? Legacies of the Fallen or my LoD Fic? Gah!!! I think I have the prologue and the first chapter as I want them. Chapter two is going very slowly, however. I’m probably just being too picky, but I love my detail too much. I know what I want to say and I can see the scene in my mind, but it just doesn’t render the same way on paper. I need to get Cinaed and Jacoris out of the cave, get Gavesin from the delirious beach passage and to Magus and Thalin, and then get all of them to their destination. Eventually I suppose I’ll just approach it like a bull in a china shop (like I did for that horrible beach passge) and then I’ll finally get the breakthrough I need. Lee is still in the air as to whether he’s going to be one of my villians or one of the heroes. Actually, those terms are a misnomer. To rephrase it, I’m not sure whether he’s going to be a protagonist or antagonist, or if I’m going to place him in a different sort of role. He might even play the role of an anti-hero. Fortunately, he’s now out of the story for a bit so I can relax and continue to work on him. That leaves me with Thalin and Gavesin. Yeesh… this is going to be fun. I’ll get the kevlar and nomex, you get the keys to the bomb shelter, my muses will stock the essentials. This is not going to be pretty. Anyway, my Legend of Zelda layout is almost done. I’m working on cutting it out right now and it should be up shortly after. The nice thing is that I can totally lay it out and test it without any surprise mistakes with tons of mistakes. Just two templates and I’ve skinned this whole blog. Nice, huh? B) entered @ 12:04 am · filed under: Fiction
